Rebecca tells her friend Maria about their new neighborhood, suggests places between Philadelphia and New York where she and Maria could meet, and updates her on news about their mutual friends.

This letter from Elie Wiesel of The Elie Wiesel Foundation For Humanity to First Lady Laura Bush, dated February 6, 2007, acknowledges receipt of Mrs. Bush's response to an earlier letter from January 29. Wiesel expresses regret that Mrs. Bush cannot attend the foundation's dinner honoring Oprah Winfrey. He then extends a second request, asking Mrs. Bush if she would consider serving as the Honorary Chairwoman of the event. He notes that Mrs. Bush received their Humanitarian Award in 2002 and states that her participation, even in spirit, would be very meaningful and would further honor her work, especially her dedication to children's welfare and education.
