Rebecca offers her friend Maria medical advice, updates her on Maria's sister's travels, and discusses the rewards and joys of raising and teaching children.

Maria Edgeworth sends a letter through a friend to introduce herself to Rebecca. She hopes to start a correspondence with her after the death of Rachel Lazarus whose critique of her novels and long friendship led to a rethinking of her attitudes toward Jews. She asks Rebecca for a cherished book and inquires about her opinion of her novel Harrington.

Writing to his aunt-in-law Rebecca, Solomon instructs her on how to disperse copies of Grace Aguilar's book and updates her on his children. Miriam adds a note and passes a letter along to her cousin, Henry Etting. RGC0165B: Solomon writes to his aunt-in-law Rebecca about his faith and describes the misconceptions held by Christians on Judaism. He also suggests that Rebecca write a book explaining Judaism to Christians.
