Writing in a sorrowful mood, Slowey tells her friend Rebecca about the loss she feels after her best friend's marriage and the visit to her father's and sister's graves.

This is a New Year's greeting card for 2005-2006 from The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The card features a Quranic verse (36:36) about creation on its cover and inside. The main part of the card contains a photograph of the Jordanian Royal Family: King Abdullah II, Queen Rania, and their four children (Crown Prince Hussein, Princess Iman, Princess Salma, and Prince Hashem). Opposite the photograph is a New Year's wish in both Arabic and English for a year filled with prosperity, love, and good health. The greeting is personally signed by King Abdullah and Queen Rania. The card blends religious sentiment, national identity (with the kingdom's name and emblem), and a personal family touch.
