During the War of 1812, Rebecca writes to her brother Benjamin while he is stationed at camp, discusses useful items to send to him, and describes the wedding of their servant.

Rebecca tells her sister-in-law Ann about the the still-born child of Montgomery and Mary Blair and the strange circumstances surrounding her nephew Isaac Moses's death. Also, having read about the death of a Mr. Boswell, she expresses her concern that he is a relative of Ann's.

Rebecca writes to her sister-in-law Maria of the precarious health of her nieces Becky and Sara after giving birth and of a difficult child the Orphan Society is trying to take in.

Rebecca tells her sister-in-law Maria of her family's upcoming visit to Lexington, an inspirational sermon given by Reverend Channing, and her admiration for Harriet Martineau and Fanny Kemble.

Rebecca writes to her brother Ben about their sister Sally's continued medical care and travel updates of family and friends.
